Stereotactic Radiosurgery

A Guide for Referring Physicians

Stereotactic Radiosurgery has been my life since 1996 when I joined a Fellowship in this discipline at Heisei Memorial Hospital at Fujieda, Shizuoka, Japan under Dr. Tatsuo Hirai. It opened a universe of Stereotactic Neurosurgery for me. How to treat a patient without exposing him to the risks of open neurosurgery? The purpose of this short booklet is to give the referring neurosurgeons insights into the field of Stereotactic Radiosurgery. I hope it will provide them with sufficient information to help them select patients who can be potential candidates for Radiosurgery
